The most accurate, or copied, of the lot… An iconic photograph we associate with him, since there are so few photographs, and almost conspiratorially (but probably on his part) no really clear and authenticated photos of him AFTER his disappearance into the wilds of worldliness… Photos of him standing by a palm tree in his white khamise and trousers, face almost obliterated in the light, don’t help. A certain maintained anonymity, spiritually, good for the soul. and if we’re so graced, our life-work’s heritage?
