awrence, so well known for his novels, scandalous or true, or scandalous AND true, but for me it’s his poetry that survives fashion, language, ideology, philosophy, etc. Taking from Whitman, Lawrence moved from his early pure Georgian poetry, archaic and poetically conservative in rhyme and outlook, and after the Great War, into visionary and experiential poems of startling and more vivid directness.
